Inspired by pre-columbian culture that had the sun and moon as their gods. The Xeque will do ceremonies to give offerings to the Sun and was the source of the legend of "El dorado". This sculpture connects with the Sun cycle as it was used by the Muisca Indians to predict the time to seed and the harvest.
I used the sun dial design to cast shadows in the ground; it moves around marking the ground with its shadow through the seasons. The Xeque is represented by the central eye observing reflecting the environment.
